Description
Air frying is one of the best ways to cook store-bought frozen dumplings. Fast, easy, crispy, and convenient.
Ingredients
- 12–14 frozen dumplings, such as gyoza, mandu, or potstickers
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil, for brushing
- Chinese-style dipping sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1–2 tsp Chinese black vinegar
- Chili oil to taste
- Grated or finely sliced ginger to taste
- Pinch of sugar
- Japanese-style dipping sauce:
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1–2 tsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Finely chopped garlic to taste
- Chili flakes, optional
Instructions
1. Thaw dumplings for 10 minutes; they do not need to be completely thawed.
2. Grease the air fryer basket with oil.
3. Brush or spray each dumpling generously with oil, including the folds and edges.
4. Place dumplings in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if needed.
5. Air fry at 190°C/375°F for 8 minutes.
6. Turn dumplings over and air fry for another 4 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
8. For dipping sauce, combine the sauce ingredients in a bowl and stir well. Taste and add 1-2 teaspoons of water to reduce tanginess, if preferred.
Notes
Use store-bought frozen gyoza, mandu, or potstickers.
Canola oil, avocado oil, and peanut oil are good choices for air frying because of their high smoke points.
