Description
Achieve restaurant-quality crispy summer squash with zero effort. This air fryer recipe uses zucchini or yellow squash for golden, buttery-brown bites that highlight natural sweetness and satisfying crunch—perfect as a snack or side.
Ingredients
2 summer squashes (yellow or zucchini) – Choose firm squash for best structure
1½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons olive oil (or other neutral oil)
Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C)
Slice squashes into ¼ to ½ inch thick rounds or sticks
In a bowl, toss squash pieces with olive oil, salt, and garlic powder
Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring no overlap
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy
Notes
Use a fork to test for doneness—edges should be crispy but not burnt.
Substitute olive oil with avocado or grapeseed oil for neutral flavor.
Optional: Add paprika or chili flakes for extra flavor.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days (reheat gently to maintain crispness).
