Description

A crispy, sweet-tangy honey mustard chicken dish with a caramelized exterior and juicy interior. Air-fried for 15-22 minutes with minimal oil, this recipe combines the richness of honey with the sharpness of Dijon and yellow mustard, offering a versatile weeknight meal option that’s adaptable to various dietary preferences.


Ingredients

1.5 lbs skinless, boneless chicken breasts or thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces or kept whole)
1/4 cup runny honey (preferably raw)
3 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Optional for serving: fresh parsley, sesame seeds, or apple slices


Instructions

Whisk honey, Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a bowl until emulsified. Set aside 2 tablespoons for glazing.
Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Toss remaining sauce with chicken until evenly coated.
Place chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 380°F for 10-15 minutes, then flip and cook another 8-10 minutes.
During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush 1 tablespoon of the reserved glaze over the chicken. Repeat with the remaining glaze if desired.
Serve with optional garnishes like fresh parsley, sesame seeds, or apple slices.


Notes

Use parchment paper to line the air fryer for easier cleanup.
Check chicken doneness with a meat thermometer; internal temperature should reach 165°F.
Leftovers can be shredded for sandwiches, salads, or meal prep.
