Description
Transform underappreciated brussels sprouts into a crispy, caramelized side dish with this air fryer method. Sweet, tender interiors and crunchy exteriors make this healthy vegetable a crowd-pleaser in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
12 Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (optional)
Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C)
Wash and dry Brussels sprouts, cut them in half lengthwise
In a large bowl, toss sprouts with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated
Arrange in a single layer in air fryer basket, cut side down
Air fry for 15-18 minutes, shaking basket halfway through to ensure even browning
Drizzle with balsamic glaze (if using) after cooking
Let cool slightly before serving
Notes
Sprouts can be prepped ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days
For extra crunch, cook a second batch if air fryer basket overflows
Add lemon zest or red pepper flakes for variation
Store leftovers in a single layer in the fridge for best texture
