Description

A crispy, flavorful alternative to traditional deep-fried chicken, made healthier with an air fryer. Tossed in a salty and peppery coating with hints of garlic and chili, this dish delivers a satisfying crunch and bold taste in under an hour.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp chili flakes
1/2 tsp five-spice powder
1/2 tsp sugar
Cooked rice noodles, for serving (optional)
Fresh coriander and lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes and pat dry.
In a bowl, mix flour, salt, white pepper, garlic powder, chili flakes, five-spice powder, and sugar.
Toss chicken pieces in the flour mixture until evenly coated.
Lightly spray both sides of the chicken with oil.
Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
Air fry in a single layer for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
Once done, toss drained chicken in the seasoning blend and serve with rice noodles, coriander, and lime.

Notes

Use chicken breasts for a leaner option
Marinate chicken in soy sauce and ginger for 10-15 minutes for extra depth
Adjust chili flakes for spice level
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days
