Description
A bakery-style dessert made in your air fryer! Light, fluffy donuts filled with sweet jelly, fried to golden perfection with less mess and time than traditional methods.
Ingredients
¾ cup warm milk
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons softened butter
1 large egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
⅓ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup jelly (such as raspberry or blueberry)
Coarse sugar for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
Mix in 1 cup flour, softened butter, egg, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract to form a dough.
Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Portion dough into 6-ounce balls. Shape each into a ring and pipe jelly into the center.
Dust donuts with flour, place in air fryer basket (do not overcrowd), and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for 6-8 minutes per side until golden.
Let cool and enjoy warm.
Notes
Use a piping bag or gel candy filler for precise jelly insertion
Ensure air fryer build is only halfway full to prevent sticking
Storage: Freeze uncooked donuts in a zip bag for up to 3 months
Vegetarian-compliant with butter substitute omitted (see ‘halal/non-alcoholic dishes’ guidelines)
