Description
Crispy Chinese-American chicken glazed with a sticky honey-sesame sauce, made in an air fryer for a healthier, faster version of takeout classics.
Ingredients
4 chicken breasts
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 1/2 tablespoons sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon chili paste or gochujang (optional)
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for brushing)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Garlic sticks (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Pat chicken dry and cut into bite-sized pieces
Season with cornstarch and pepper
Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C)
Air fry chicken for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, vinegar, and chili paste
Brush sauce over hot chicken
Air fry 2-3 more minutes for extra crispiness
Serve with sesame seeds and garlic sticks
Notes
For extra crunch: sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on chicken before air frying
Substitute chili paste with chili flakes if preferred
Sauce sweetness can be adjusted by honey amount
