Description

A crispy, melty hybrid of grilled cheese and hot dogs, made smoky and cheesy in under five minutes using an air fryer. Perfect for quick snacks or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

1 slice bread (white or sourdough)
2 teaspoons mayonnaise
1 slice cheese (cheddar, provolone, or mozzarella)
1 plant-based hot dog
3 toothpicks
1 teaspoon optional seasonings (garlic powder, onion powder, or hot sauce)

Instructions

Ensure the air fryer’s basket is cool before use.
Spread mayonnaise evenly on both sides of the bread slice.
Place the cheese slice and plant-based hot dog on one side of the bread.
Wrap the bread around the hot dog to form a sandwich.
Secure with toothpicks, piercing through all layers.
Place in the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes until golden and crispy.

Notes

Use durable bread to hold moisture.
Swap cheese for provolone or mozzarella for a different flavor.
Replace the plant-based hot dog with fully cooked beef if dietary restrictions allow.
Brush the bread with extra mayonnaise for a crisper crust.
