Description

Light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned air fryer fried pickles with a tangy briny flavor. A healthier take on classic diner appetizers, these golden-brown delights are quick to make and guaranteed to satisfy cravings for something salty, crunchy, and zesty.

Ingredients

Scale

24 dill pickle slices
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 large eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Optional: cooking oil spray for extra crispness

Instructions

Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C)
In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika
Place breadcrumbs in a separate bowl
Dip pickle slices into the flour mixture, then into beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs
Place on air fryer basket and spray lightly with oil if desired
Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway for even cooking

Notes

Freeze the breaded pickles for 10 minutes before cooking to ensure extra crispiness
For a richer flavor, substitute eggs with buttermilk or heavy cream
Rotate the basket halfway through cooking for even browning
Serves 24 as appetizers
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days
