Description
Light, crispy apple rings coated in cinnamon-sugar and air-fried for a quick, healthier dessert. Resembles donut texture with a warm, tender core and a spiced crunch. Ready in under 20 minutes!
Ingredients
6–8 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup caster sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons butter (melted, halal-friendly brand)
1 egg (optional, for extra crisp)
Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 350°F (180°C)
Peel and thinly slice apples into rounds with a mandoline
In a shallow bowl, mix flour, caster sugar, cinnamon, salt, and breadcrumbs
Dip each apple slice into melted butter, then coat in the flour-breadcrumb mixture
Chef’s optional step: Lightly brush the tops with egg wash for crisped edges
Air fry apple slices in a single layer for 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway
Transfer to a wire rack to cool for 2-3 minutes before serving
Notes
Use a halal-certified butter alternative if preferred
For a vegan version, omit egg and use aquafaba wash
Store in an airtight container up to 2 days. Best served the same day
Can be sprinkled with a pinch of nutmeg for extra warmth
